Epiphany Worship

On Thursday, Jan. 6 we will have a special Epiphany Festival Service at 7:00 p.m. 

Last Week

Last week we had 199 worship in person and 58 online. That is 34.3% of our membership. Please encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ to stay close to Jesus through faithful use of Word and sacraments! 

Voters Call Meeting

On Sunday, Jan. 9 we will have a voters meeting to extend a call for a grades 5-6 teacher and a call for a 4K-5K teacher. We will meet in church after late worship.  

Couples Devotional

The Enderles are lead a year-long devotional for married couples. The 1-2 minute devotion is done as a couple at home each day. There are around 30 couples who are already participating in this devotion! It’s not too late to join. There is a Facebook and texting group for encouragement and questions. Contact Pastor Enderle if you are interested.   

Men of His Word

Men of his Word Conference is Feb. 19 at the Best Western Convention Center in Oshkosh. Registration is open. Go to menofhisword.org for more information. 

Open House

The Enderles invite you to an open house at the parsonage on Saturday, Jan. 8, 1:00-4:00 p.m. Come for a drink, some snacks, and good conversation. 

Christmas Cards

Christmas Cards with worship information are available in the back of church. Pick some up, invite, and bring people to our special services this Christmas season! 

Partnering in the Gospel

This new seminar will be held once a month on a Saturday from 10:30 a.m–1:30 p.m. Lunch is provided along with babysitting. We hope new members and lifelong members will join this seminar as a refresher of what it means to be a member of Morrison Zion. All are welcome to join. RSVPs are not necessary but will help us have food and materials. The first seminar is Jan. 29.

Communion Registration

When you commune, please take the time to check your name on the sheets in the back of church, by the elevator, or in the basement. Thanks! 

Can You Help?

Ice cream pails/cool whip bowls are needed. You can put them in the food pantry cart at church or bring them to school. Thank you!

Old Christian Christmas Cards

Old Christian Christmas Cards may be dropped off in a box on the safe in the church basement library. The cards will be sent to inmates. 

Bible Studies
Romans—Part Two Study

Romans—Part Two Study will meet in the church basement Sunday at 9:15 a.m. The first lesson of this study is on how God’s Grace Always Triumphs. 

Sunday Commons Study

Commons Study meets Sunday at school at 9:15 a.m.  We are beginning our study on the “4 D’s of Discipleship,  We will look at how the “Drama” and stories are unique and important for our faith.   

Sunday School

Sunday School meets at 9:15 am at school. Children ages 3 to grade 6 are invited to join. Older students are welcome to help assist with the young class or participate in the commons Bible Study. More teachers are needed as well. Please talk to Pastor Enderle if you can help from time to time.   

Youth Group

Youth Group meets for study and open gym Sundays at 7:00 p.m. We are looking at the hope that we have as Christians found in 1 Peter. 

2022 International Youth Rally

2022 International Youth Rally will be held June 28-July 1 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Registration date at Morrison is February 15. Early-bird registration is $375. Morrison Zion will pay all travel costs. Those who missed out on the 2020 Youth Rally are still able to attend this Rally if they are interested. Please contact Pastor Enderle with questions and signup online

Youth Group Game Night

Youth Group Game Night will be at Immanuel in Shirley on January 22nd at 7:00pm. Morrison Zion Youth are invited try out a new game or play an old favorite.  Snacks and drinks will be provided. RSVP is not necessary but helpful so we know how many tables to set up.  You can send a text to Kelly Ruddat at 920-632-8630.

Sunday Night Book Discussion

This Sunday we will discuss chapter 6 of On Being a Christian: A Personal Confession. Chapter 6 is God’s Word and My Faith. Copies of the book are available for $13 from Pastor Ott. We meet at Nickel Funeral home at 7:00 p.m.  

New Life in Christ

New Life in Christ will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. (lesson 12). We meet in the Bible Study room in the church basement. If you or someone you know, would like to review the basic teachings of the Bible or explore membership at Zion, this is the class for you!  

Rooted Bible Study

A new Bible study for those in their 20s and 30s called Rooted meets on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in the church basement.  We will meet Monday, 17 and 31 at 7:00 p.m. in the church basement. Join us! 

Men's Study

Men's Study meets every other week on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in the church basement. We will meet this Monday, January 10 and 24. We are looking more in-depth at the readings from Sunday Worship. 

Choir

Choir meets on Wednesdays. Rehearsals will begin again at 7:00 p.m. on Jan. 12 in the church balcony. Please join us!

Thank you! We not only met our goal of $75,000 in November, but we surpassed it! We are moving forward with our plans. We have a final design (cf. the latest video with the 3-D rendering at www.mlhslancers.org/campaign.)

Planting Gospel Seeds

Place a seed on the picture in the back of church when you talk about Jesus outside of worship. The seeds are on each side of the double doors. Whenever you are at church put up a seed for each time you shared Jesus!

Streaming Worship is live on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. and then available after that on YouTube and Facebook at your convenience. Please register online or text 920-362-7118 so we know who is worshipping with us!

Soup For Souls

Soup For Souls Meals continue to be available at school and at church for all to share the message of Jesus love with others. Don't forget to include a card with the meal when you deliver it to a friend/ neighbor.

Volunteer Sign Up

We have a new volunteer area on our website at   https://mzluth.org/volunteer/ where you can look for ways to serve others. You will find different opportunities at different times where you can use your gifts and talents to glorify God.

We want to keep the entire congregation informed about events. One way we do this is with weekly announcements. Please send your announcements to ottrr@mzluth.org by Tuesday evening. This allows the announcements to be done and sent to the people who put them on the slides for worship. Thanks!
