Morrison Zion is hosting a Fall Festival on Sunday, October 10, 12:00–3:00 p.m. with local food and vendors. We hope this can be a great opportunity to gather our community together. Food and vendors will be in the school parking lot while all visitors will park at church, like our Trunk or Treat event. There will be brats and burgers, treats, decorations, and much more.

As part of the Fall Festival, we will host a bake sale to raise funds for the Good Samaritan Fund and Mission Journeys. Help us support these two great programs! Baked goods can be dropped off the morning of Sunday, Oct. 10.

On Friday, Oct. 1 Kyle Laabs and Megan Feldkamp were united in Christian marriage in a worship service at Zion. On Saturday, Oct. 9 Rick Tisler and Carrie Kasper will be/were united in marriage in a worship service at Zion. Please pray for God’s blessings on these couples in their married lives! 

Last Sunday, Oct. 3, Serenity Lou Collins was baptized in a private service after late worship. Serenity, the daughter of Tracie and Patrick Collins, was born April 21, 2021. Please pray for God’s blessings on Serenity and her family!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Welcome Home Event. We had 403 worship in person and 35 online. That is 59.1% of our membership. Continue to encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ to stay close to Jesus through faithful use of the Word and the sacraments!

This Sunday we will look at Romans 3:21-28. We meet at 9:15 a.m. in the basement.

Sunday School for children age 3 to Grade 6 meets at 9:15 a.m. at school. Join us this week for Lesson 5: A Nativity Night — Jesus' Birth

Parenting Bible Study continues this Sunday at 9:15 a.m. in the commons at school. Join us when you take your children to Sunday School! This week we look at Lesson 4: A Safety Net (Teaching Discernment).  

Youth Group Study will meet this Sunday at 7:00 p.m.. We are looking at the hope that we have as Christians found in 1 Peter. 

This Sunday we will continue Your Questions, Scripture’s Answers. We will discuss chapter 8, Creeds and Confessions. We meet at Nickel Funeral home at 7:00 p.m. We will not meet on Sunday, Oct. 17. 

This week we will meet on Monday at 6:30 p.m. (lesson 1). We meet in the Bible Study room in the church basement. We are beginning a new session. If you or someone you know, would like to review the basic teachings of the Bible or explore membership at Zion, this is the class for you!  

Men's Study will meet Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the church basement. We are studying 2 Thessalonians. Join us this week!

Women’s Bible Study meets Thursdays at 6:00 p.m.

Youth Group Corn Maze will be Oct. 23, 5:00-8:00p.m. We will go to Polly’s Pumpkin Patch. Please RSVP to Pastor Enderle (james.enderle@mzls.org) by Oct. 15. Price will be around $5 if we have enough to get group rates.

Join us Sunday, Oct. 24 after the 10:30 service as we celebrate 10 years in the ministry for Pastor Enderle and Mrs. Muchka. The Jr. Choir will sing during the service followed by a short program in church. Refreshments will be served in the church basement after the service. Please join us! 

School plays will be performed Thursday, Oct. 21 (10:00 a.m.) and Friday, Oct. 22 (7:00 p.m.) 4K, 5K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades will perform their plays or songs. Please join us!

Place a seed on the picture in the back of church when you talk about Jesus outside of worship. The seeds are on each side of the double doors. Whenever you are at church put up a seed for each time you shared Jesus!

Soup For Souls Meals continue to be available at school and at church for all to share the message of Jesus love with others. Don't forget to include a card with the meal when you deliver it to a friend/ neighbor.

We have a new volunteer area on our website at   https://mzluth.org/volunteer/ where you can look for ways to serve others. You will find different opportunities at different times where you can use your gifts and talents to glorify God.

We want to keep the entire congregation informed about events. One way we do this is with weekly announcements. Please send your announcements to ottrr@mzluth.org by Tuesday evening. This allows the announcements to be done and sent to the people who put them on the slides for worship. Thanks!
