Principal and 7th & 8th Grade Teacher
Jacob Geidel was born in Milwaukee, WI and grew up in West Bend, WI. He graduated from Good Shepherd Ev Lutheran Elementary School in 2006, Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in 2010 and Martin Luther College in 2015.
After graduation from MLC in 2015, Jacob was called to teach 5th and 6th grade at Zion Lutheran School in Rhinelander, WI. He served 7 years as a teacher, 6 years as the Athletic Director, and 2 years as an Assistant Principal.
In 2022, Jacob accepted a call to serve at Morrison Zion Lutheran School as a 5th and 6th grade teacher starting in the 2022-2023 school year. In 2023, he accepted a call to also serve as Principal at MZLS beginning with the 2023-2024 school year.
Jacob is married to Hillary Geidel, who does a wonderful job teaching our youngest learners in Preschool and Kindergarten.
In his spare time, Jacob enjoys disc golf, watching the Bucks and the Packers, spending time with friends, and trying new restaurants in search of the best burger.
Jacob enjoys teaching his students each day in the light of God’s Word. Jacob enjoys guiding his students towards becoming independent leaners. He enjoys finding subjects that students are passionate about while encouraging them to use their God-given talents to the best of their ability in everything they do.
5th & 6th Grade Teacher
Sharon was born and raised in South Haven, Michigan. Sharon knew from 4th grade that she wanted to be a teacher! She attended Michigan Lutheran Seminary for high school, from 1971 – 1975. Sharon went on to Martin Luther College, graduating in 1979. Her first Call was to Bethany, in Manitowoc, grades 3 & 4, girls’ athletics. After 6 years there, Sharon accepted a Call to Trinity, in Nicollet, Minnesota. She taught grades 2 & 3 and girls’ athletics, from 1985 – 1989. Sharon moved out to Jersey in February of 1990, taking a nanny position. Sharon was a nanny for several families over several years. She was a teacher at St. Peters in New Brunswick for first grade. That lasted 3 years, then that school closed. She then received a teaching job at St. Matthew, in Edison, New Jersey. Sharon taught there for 16 years. She moved back to Michigan in 2015, to help care for my parents. Sharon’s father was called Home on October 30, 2022, and her mother on July 23, 2023. Since her purpose and focus for moving back in the first place was gone, she reached out to Synod about going back into teaching! She is very excited to be at Morrison Zion and teaching again! This begins a new and exciting chapter in her life, guided by her Lord and Savior!
3rd & 4th Grade Teacher
Michaela was born in Appleton and grew up on a dairy farm in Neenah. She attended grade school at Immanuel Greenville and high school at Fox Valley Lutheran where she met her husband, Jason. After graduation at MLC, Michaela was assigned to teach at St. Matthew’s in Iron Ridge, WI where she served as remedial teacher and later 5-6 grade teacher. For the past 13 years, Michaela had her own keepsake and jewelry business which focused on helping those that were going through the loss of a child. Michaela and Jason have 4 children- Kaden, Mason, Haddie, and Carter (who went to heaven in 2008). They live in Wayside and have been members at Morrison since 2014.
In her free time, Michaela enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and time spent with friends and family.
Michaela feels very blessed that God has called her back to serve in the classroom after many years, and
she is excited to share about Jesus with her students and watch them grow in their faith.
1st & 2nd Grade Teacher
Brenda (von Stein) Kuchenbecker was born in Findlay, Ohio and grew up on a dairy farm near the small town of Jenera. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church. She attended DMLC in New Ulm, MN and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She was assigned to teach grades 1-2 here at Morrison Zion.
In 1992 Brenda married Mark Kuchenbecker and went from being Miss von Stein to Mrs. K. They are blessed with 2 daughters, Kaitlyn and Leah.
Throughout her years of service, Mrs. K. has held 5 different calls, all at Morrison Zion! She currently teaches grades 1-2, but has also taught gr. 1-3 and school music. Mrs. K. gives instrument lessons, plays church organ, directs school and church band, and directs school and church choir.
In her spare time, Mrs. K. enjoys following the activities that her daughters are involved in, watching movies, and enjoying pool time in the summer.
Mrs. K. has been blessed to serve God by working with the children and helping them learn to read. She loves seeing the light bulb go on as they learn new things. She also enjoys hearing members of all ages as they sing praises to our Savior.
4K & 5K Teacher
Hillary was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin and grew up in West Bend, Wisconsin. She graduated from Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in 2010 and from Martin Luther College in 2015.
Following graduation from MLC Hillary was assigned to teach first and second grade at Zion Lutheran in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. In 2022 she received and accepted the call to teach at Morrison Zion.
Hillary currently teaches 4K and 5K and also serves as the school promotions coordinator.
Hillary is married to Jake Geidel who is the principal and fifth and sixth grade teacher at Morrison Zion.
In her free time Hillary enjoys spending time with family, reading, and taking her dog for walks.
Hillary enjoys coming into the classroom to teach Jesus’ little lambs all about him. She enjoys watching the students’ faces light up with all the new things they learn each day.
