In memoriam is a part of worship today. The roses around the Lamb are reminders of our members who left the church militant to become saints triumphant since Saints Triumphant Sunday last year. Family members are welcome to take the rose and vase of their loved one home after worship.

Mrs. Muchka and Pastor Enderle thank all who planned the events for 10 years of ministry. They also thank everyone for their kind words of encouragement and for the gifts and cards. We are privileged to serve the Lord here at Morrison. 

Thank you to everyone who joined us for worship last week. We had 216 worship in person and 34 online. That is 33.7% of our membership. Please encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ to stay close to Jesus through use of the Word and the sacraments!

Pastor Ott received a divine call on Sunday, Nov. 7 to serve Grace Lutheran Church, La Crosse, WI. There will be a call information meeting at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21 in place of Bible Study. Pastor Ott will present the ministry needs at Grace and we will discuss our ministry needs here. Please pray that the Lord leads Pastor Ott to the best decisions for his kingdom.

Dear Members,

I received a divine call from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Livonia, Michigan, to teach Kindergarten. I am humbled with the privilege of the two calls I now hold and ask you to keep me in your prayers. As I prayerfully deliberate the two calls, I encourage you to share your questions and comments with me, as I consider how my gifts may best serve the kingdom of God.

There are sheets on the table in the basement you can fill out to hang in church for Thanksgiving. The sheets say “I am thankful for…” You can draw a picture or write a list of thanks for which you thank God. Please have them in the basket in the basement by Nov. 21. Thanks! 

MZLS Athletics is having a fundraiser in partnership with Braun Acres to support the ongoing costs of the athletic programs. We are selling Christmas wreaths and planters. Click here to order. Curbside pick-up will be in the school parking lot on Sunday, November 28. Thanks in advance for your support!  The final day to order is November 14.

Thanksgiving Worship is Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 25 at 9:00 a.m. Postcards you can use to invite people to worship are on the radiators in the back of church by the doors.

Morrison Zion and Immanuel Youth Groups will host a couple’s dinner and babysitting Saturday Dec. 4, 6:00-9:00 p.m. If you need a babysitter that night, babysitting is available at school. The Couple’s Dinner is a catered meal served at Immanuel Lutheran. Cost is $20 per couple, proceeds to benefit both youth groups. Link to register is https://shirleygreenleaf.com/couples/

Morrison Zion and Immanuel Shirley Youth Groups will provide babysitting at Morrison Zion. 

Ice cream pails/cool whip bowls are needed. You can put them in the food pantry cart at church or bring them to school. Thank you!

We will put pictures of MZLC members with names, service branch (including reserves/guard), and dates of service on the screens at church for Veterans Day. It will be on the screens at church on Thursday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Nov. 14. Thank you for your help! 

This Sunday we will look at Romans 7:7-8:17. We meet at 9:15 a.m. in the basement. We will not meet next Sunday, Nov. 21. Join us in church for a call information meeting.

Sunday School for children age 3 to Grade 6 meets at 9:15 a.m. at school. Join us this week for Lesson 10: Mountain Message—Jesus Preaches on the Mount

A second Sunday Bible Study meets at 9:15 a.m. in the commons at school. Join us when you take your children to Sunday School! This week we start a new series “Our Christian Response to Blessings and Challenges. This week we will look at "When We Struggle with the Desire for Instant Gratification." We will not meet next Sunday, Nov. 21. Join us in church for a call information meeting.

Youth Group Bible Study meets Sunday at 7:00 p.m..  We are looking at the hope that we have as Christians found in 1 Peter. 

This Sunday we will not meet. On Sunday, Nov. 21 we will discuss chapter 11, Adiaphora of Your Questions, Scripture’s Answers. We meet at Nickel Funeral home at 7:00 p.m. 

New Life in Christ will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. (lesson 4). We meet in the Bible Study room in the church basement. If you or someone you know, would like to review the basic teachings of the Bible or explore membership at Zion, this is the class for you!  

Men's Study will meet Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the 

church basement. 

Women’s Bible Study meets Thursdays at 6:00 p.m.

Choir meets on Wednesdays. Rehearsals are at 7:00 p.m. in the church balcony. Open to all again! Please join us! 

The air conditioning units are also heat pumps. If you see them running outside or hear them in worship, they are heating the church so that we do not have to have the boilers run. 

Thanksgiving Cards are available by the cards in the back of the basement. 

There is an email going around saying it is from Pastor Ott. The message says Urgent that he is very busy and wants to do something for board members. PLEASE do not open this or do anything this is not from him. Thank you again please help spread the word.

Place a seed on the picture in the back of church when you talk about Jesus outside of worship. The seeds are on each side of the double doors. Whenever you are at church put up a seed for each time you shared Jesus!

Soup For Souls Meals continue to be available at school and at church for all to share the message of Jesus love with others. Don't forget to include a card with the meal when you deliver it to a friend/ neighbor.

We have a new volunteer area on our website at   https://mzluth.org/volunteer/ where you can look for ways to serve others. You will find different opportunities at different times where you can use your gifts and talents to glorify God.

We want to keep the entire congregation informed about events. One way we do this is with weekly announcements. Please send your announcements to ottrr@mzluth.org by Tuesday evening. This allows the announcements to be done and sent to the people who put them on the slides for worship. Thanks!
